Curing Cancer

When I heard the news of when you got the blues
All that I could picture
Was the girl I knew with brown eyes that shine so true
And in every text book that I’d read
The story was never sweet
Of people who under cancer fell beneath

In you eyes there’s a spark that died
For it can’t fight back the tide
Which wells in your body, a terrible force
That destroys you with no remorse

I looked at cancer
But I couldn’t see the cure
I looked right inside cancer
Oh, but it’s such a blur

Chemo therapy losing hair piece by piece
Why can’t I perform magic
This is all so wrong, so I write a damn song what for
They may call me crazy but I know

I don’t eat right at your soul
And break your body down so very low

In you eyes there’s a spark that died
For it can’t fight back the tide
Which wells in your body, a terrible force
That destroys you with no remorse

I looked at cancer
But I couldn’t see the cure
I looked right inside cancer
Oh, but it’s such a blur
