I had a great time again at Sessions On The River! Jindalee played first at 2pm in the afternoon and she shared some haunting, beautiful and exciting music. I don’t need to go into describing her sound too much because you can enjoy her set online still on livestream!

I was able to visit with Jindalee a little before her set and quickly fell into an easy conversation. She’s very down to earth and personable, yet there is certainly a quirky, eclectic artist brewing underneath.

Her horn player, as I mention in the livestream played in Niagara Falls with the Woodshed Orchestra last summer (click their name to check them out). It was so much fun and I had a bit of a chat with him after their set. All around, lovely people.

The second band of the day played at 9pm. In My Coma is a 3 piece rock band that sounds a lot bigger than you’d expect. They really are a force to be reckoned with! Solid players supporting a solid vocal, what more can you ask for? Stirring melodies? They have those too.

Because they played at 9pm and I was already in Fort Erie, I actually had a few hours to spend with In My Coma. We went for dinner at Trailsides and bonded over a hatred of people saying “I know, right?!” in that valley girl sorta way. It’s annoying… riiight?!

Right now they’re the top 25 for Hitz FM Rock Search! You can vote every hour, so click that Rock Search link and help them out. They’re really funny people and have a close relationship with each other, a chemistry which shows through their music (I mention that in the set too).

So, it was a great day/night of music courtesy of Sessions On The River! It’s great to hear bands in a recording studio. The acoustics are, obviously, ideal and everything is mic’d and mixed to sound as pleasing as possible. It’s generous of them to broadcast live online, but if you can make it down in person you’re going to really get the full effect. Everyone there is really nice, relaxed and cool.

Christmas Compilation for Next to Nothing!!

Merry Christmas!! I’ve compiled eleven Christmas songs to help you celebrate the season! Many of these have been offered in previous years, but there are two tracks (Crown Him with Many Crowns and Christmas Praise) which appear here for the first time ever!

Feel free to download it in any file type you want for a minimum of $3 (that’s nothing)! If you already have some of the other tracks, you can buy individual tracks for $1 (which is barely worth it if the whole thing is $3 and I did a remix/master on them).

You can also just hit play and listen to the album for free on your computer without paying a cent!

Some of the songs are original and some of them are covers. I’ve written little blurbs about them that you can read on the bandcamp website!

The Day I Appeared on CNN

This is the video from CNN which featured the video I was involved in making. It was fun to be on CNN, even if it meant being called a “demonic” dialer. I think I need to tone down my excitement for future performances. I just get wild eyes!!

Toronto After Dark Film Fest Welcomes Superbo Lasagna Man

A short film I performed in as a pasta-based super hero, Superbo Lasagna Man (the iconic face of Superbo Brand Lasagna), has been accepted into the Toronto After Dark Film Festival! It is called “Garlic Bread Man vs Superbo Lasagna Man”. It’s very exciting to have this short film screened in front of a live theatre audience (films always play better in that environment, even better than on YouTube).

The festival takes place October 18-26 in Toronto after it’s no longer light out (and, while it’s currently dark). So, it’s not really AFTER dark as much as DURING the dark time. Either way, you can watch me (as Superbo Lasagna Man) beat up Garlic Bread Man during those times. If you do come and see the film and are disappointed because you thought you’d see me in a short film, but I’m not actually in it, that’s only because I disappear in the role since I’m such a convincing actor (I assure you, I am in this film)!

An Acoustic Evening at NOTL Farmers’ Market at the Village

I’m excited to be sharing some music at the Farmers’ Market at the Village in Niagara on the Lake (my home town). I’ll be playing from 4pm-8pm all by myself (unless you show up). The great thing is that I’ll be able to share music from all my albums, stuff my band plays that isn’t recorded and songs which we’re currently working on for my forthcoming album. Come out and listen, eat, buy fresh produce and have a great time!
